Vision involves more than clarity of objects. It starts with sight and is influenced and determined by our past experiences. Thus vision is learned: to understand of what is seen. Reading and copying may also involve complex matters of accurate eyes tracking, stable and clear eyes teaming and flexible and accurate eyes focusing. A child with inefficient visual skills or underdeveloped visual perceptual skills may become more frustrated at near work and cannot sustain attention at reading (does your child struggle unnecessarily at school?). The behavioral optometrists’ approach to vision care is to maximize a person’s visual efficiency.

We, behavioral optometrists spend years in post-graduate training. We prescribe lenses and programs to prevent or eliminate visual problems and enhance visual performance.
